About the role

European LifeCare Group is experiencing strong growth and is continuously developing and digitalising its organisation across markets. We are looking for a Head of Tech who will lead the development of our digital and data foundation and ensure that technology supports both our current operations and our future growth.

This is a hands-on role in a dynamic and fast-changing environment. You will work closely with the business teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

You will initially operate in a lean setup and are expected to take a hands-on role in building the data platform foundation from the ground up.

A key priority will be to design and develop a modern data and platform foundation that enables the organisation to become increasingly data-driven and support faster decision-making, operational efficiency, and growth.

The role is primarily focused on building the underlying data platform and data flows (including ingestion, pipelines, and architecture), which will serve as the foundation for analytics and reporting. While you will work closely with business functions such as Finance, the development of front-end reporting and dashboards will primarily be handled within the business.

European LifeCare Group is growing both organically and through acquisitions. The role will therefore play an important part in building scalable platforms and architectures that support integration of new companies and systems.

You will own and drive the technology roadmap in close collaboration with leadership and key stakeholders while ensuring that solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.

The role will also explore how technologies such as AI, advanced analytics, and automation can strengthen the organisation’s ability to scale and operate more efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Own and drive the technology roadmap aligned with business priorities
Develop and maintain the organisation’s data and platform architecture
Establish and evolve a modern data platform supporting analytics, BI, and AI use cases
Translate business needs into practical technical solutions
Build scalable platforms that support rapid integration of new acquisitions
Drive automation and digitalisation of operational processes
Develop data products and data governance frameworks
Enable better decision-making through data insights and analytics
Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and other business functions
Identify and develop AI and advanced analytics use cases
Establish frameworks for responsible and effective use of AI and machine learning
Improve visibility and control of the company’s technology and system landscape

Your profile

We imagine that you:

Have experience as Head of Tech, Tech Lead, Architect, or CTO in a smaller organisation
Have strong business understanding and the ability to translate business needs into technology
Are comfortable working hands-on in a fast-moving environment
Have experience building or working with modern data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake or similar)
Have a strong background in data engineering, including experience with data pipelines, ingestion, and backend data architecture
Have experience with platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices
Understand data architecture and data-driven organisations
Ideally have experience with product ownership, agile development, or roadmap management
Have a growth mindset, high on execution and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
Are comfortable operating both strategically and operationally

You will work closely with the leadership team and business functions across the organisation and play a central role in building the company’s future digital and data foundation.
